PlayMetronome is a small set of browser tools for musicians: a precision metronome, microphone tuners for guitar, piano and ukulele, tap tempo and BPM detection, a note frequency chart with an Hz-to-note converter, a guitar chord chart and two ear trainers. Nothing needs an account and nothing needs installing.

How the tools work

Everything runs on your own device. The metronome schedules clicks against the Web Audio clock, the tuners read pitch from the microphone by autocorrelation, and the BPM finder decodes your audio file locally. No audio is uploaded and no recordings are kept.

The site carries Google AdSense advertising, and some pages link to Amazon as an Amazon Associate, which means we earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. Those links are marked. What that means for cookies and data is set out in full on the privacy page.
